Benchmarking that is fair to every centre.
When every centre records treatment the same way, outcomes can finally be compared. See where you stand regionally, nationally and worldwide.
What you can compare.
Every measure is calculated from the same fields, with the same definitions, at every centre.
- Full correction rate, and each of the three criteria
- Tenotomy rate, in clinic and in theatre
- Average casts before and after tenotomy
- Cast slips per patient
- Age at start of treatment
- Pirani score at start and into bracing
- Skin events during bracing, by grade
- Skin events on the unaffected foot in one-sided cases
- Initial and secondary treatment mix
- Skin problems by Pirani score into bracing
Your centre, in context.
Rankings at three levels, results split by bilateral and unilateral feet, and outcomes by brace type.

In one-sided cases the boot is also worn on the unaffected foot. Every skin event is recorded against the foot it's on, so the unaffected foot is tracked separately.
Share of children in each brace type with at least one recorded skin event.
Does better correction mean fewer skin problems?
The Pirani score into bracing records how well each foot is corrected when casting finishes. Talipes Tracker links that score to what happens in the boots, so you can see whether feet that went into bracing less well corrected have more skin problems.
- Skin problems in the boots, by Pirani score into bracing
- The same comparison for each of the three correction criteria
- Relapse, repeat casting and further surgery, recorded at follow-up visits
- Your centre, your region and worldwide, on the same chart
Illustrative figures only. Real results appear once enough feet have been followed through bracing.
How we keep it fair.
A league table is only useful if every centre trusts it.
- Other centres are always anonymous. You only ever see your own name.
- Rankings only appear once at least five centres contribute, so no centre can be identified by elimination.
- Bilateral and unilateral patients are reported separately, because they behave differently.
- Small numbers are flagged rather than ranked.
